Facebook Group RULES

1) English is the lingua franca ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Please only post in English so that we all understand each other.

Try your best to make your communication as accurate as possible and put some effort into correct spelling, punctuation etc. Don’t worry: typos and mistakes will occur from time to time and are not a reason to make posters feel unwelcome.

2) Use the TEMPLATE, a model for posting requests and questions.ย  ๐Ÿ“‹โœ๐Ÿฝ
Template info: see Facebook Group Template (follow this instruction and don’t forget to manually upload at least one picture!).
In short, please, follow the instructions below to submit your volunteering opportunity:
  • Upload images: share one or more pictures related to the opportunity.
  • Description: briefly describe the volunteering role.
  • Details to mention:
    • Duration: Specify the hours or days required for the volunteer work.
    • Activity type: Describe the types of volunteering activities involved.
    • Fees: if there are any charges, please mention the amount.
    • Location: state the location and country of the opportunity.
3) For hosts/organizations: opportunities/volunteer requests must be FREE (especially in this group Free volunteering projects GROUP) ๐ŸŒ
Exceptions can be made for projects in developing countries.
4)ย  For volunteers: Use the ‘search bar’ ๐Ÿ”
There is a ton of great information already in this group. To avoid duplicate threads, please use the search bar on the left side of the screen BEFORE asking for volunteering opportunities. If you find a v. opportunity or thread related to your question, please post follow up questions there.
5) Use the ‘report’ button function. ๐Ÿšจ
If you see something that violates our community guidelines, please report the post using the ‘report’ function. Direct messages to moderators will not be responded to, nor will tags in comments. If you start a thread, you will always have the power to turn off comments and delete the post
6) No Promotions or Spam ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ๐Ÿšฎ
Self-promotion, Spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed. This isย not a “PM me and I’ll help you” kind of group. No solicitations.
7) Free Sharing and open-source ๐Ÿ†“
All information, volunteer requests, opinions & comments relative to volunteering activities around the world might also be published in our free online platform, www.voluntouring.org โ€“ Don’t share information that is private or sensitive to you.
8) No double-posting. โžฟ

Please, don’t post your announcement more than once. Duplicate posts might be deleted.

9) Be Kind – No hate speech or bullyingย  ๐ŸŒท
Hiding behind a screen can sometimes embolden aggressive behavior and negative remarks, but it’s not a courageous act. Engage with others online as you would face-to-face, treating them with the same respect you’d give to a friend. It’s okay to have differing opinions; just ensure your interactions remain civil and respectful.
10) No fake profilesย  ๐Ÿ›‚

Members using false names or fake accounts for commercial or trolling purposes will be removed from the group.
