Hello to all adventurers ๐Ÿ™‚ Would you like to become a rafting guide (skipper)? โ€“ We would like to invite you to spend an amazing summer of 2019 in our rafting club on the river Neretva in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Beautiful nature, clean water, fresh air, rich history, tasty food, aromatic homemade beverages as well as friendly locals will make your stay at us an unforgettable experience. ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s the mission of your community?

We started to operate in 2004 as a small modest family rafting company with just few boats. From the start we set high goals and expressed our wish to attract enthusiast and adventurers from all around the world who like to spend time in nature and to share with them all the beauty that river Neretva has to offer. Today we are a leading outdoor company in the region which hosts yearly more than 5000 guests from all parts of the world.

If you are sending a lot of messages to different hosts then we are not a good option for you ๐Ÿ™‚ If we accept you and then you decide to go elsewhere but you don’t even inform us, then it is really not fair for other people whom we rejected because we decided to accept you ๐Ÿ™‚

What kind of persons do we want?
  • Up to 30 years old
  • Without any major health issue (Heart problems, mental/physical disorders…)
  • To be able to paddle (No need to be some sportish athletic person. Just to be able to use the paddle.)
  • Persons who would be willing to spend here 2-3 months, or longer if your passport allows…

 

What do we offer?
  • Free food, 3 meals a day … (Lots of high caloric traditional food ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Free accommodation
  • Free rafting training
  • On a long run, if you find rafting something what you would like to do as your primary or secondary job (income), and we are generally satisfied with your progress, then there is an open option for pocket money, salary and other benefits… ๐Ÿ™‚
What do we expect from you?
  • Your primary task is to get involved in our rafting school, pass the training and become a skipper.
  • You will be helping us in all the logistics involved in organizing massive rafting events.
  • You will be helping us with our equipment (Washing, Drying, Storing, Repairing,…)

How many volunteers could you host?

4 volunteers

When would you need volunteers?

Summer 2021 (Starting from the middle of May or so)…

How many hours of help per day?

5 hours

How many days of help per week?

6 days

Volunteering expectations:

Work is usually divided into 3 shifts (morning, noon & afternoon shift), up to 5 hours. In our rafting club, the main focus is on weekends when we have the majority of guests and thatโ€™s why we would appreciate your maximum devotion during Saturday and Sundayโ€ฆ but during the rest of the week, you will have more free time for yourself to do some creative activities. Because we also like to have a good & fun time, we can organize some excursions and visit Sarajevo, Mostar or some other places which you will find interesting ๐Ÿ™‚
We hope that you will be able to learn a lot from us and also we hope to learn something new and cool from you ๐Ÿ™‚ We are very open-minded and flexible for all interesting suggestions, so feel free to bring a full suitcase of inspiration with you ๐Ÿ™‚

What type of accommodation can you provide?

Dormitory/shared rooms

Diet

We serve traditional food of Bosnia & Herzegovina. That’s why it could be difficult for us to have vegetarians or vegans.
Also… We expect that you come here in order to become a skipper, and that’s why you would need a lot of calories. If you are used to eating light low calory food, then this might not be a good option for you ๐Ÿ™‚

VISA

No! I cannot help with Visa.

Volunteers’ benefits

We will try to make a skipper out of you…
…which means that you will gain a completely new set of skills which you could use later in your life for a paid opportunity. In our company or anywhere else… ๐Ÿ™‚

English… but the more languages you know, the better

How to get to your site

You should come to town Konjic, either from Sarajevo or Mostar. The best option is the bus. Our location is 7km from Konjic, but we will pick you up at the bus station in Konjic, so no worry…
