Off-grid life – Enthusiastic volunteers, who want to learn how to live a low impact life alongside nature at our off-grid permaculture project, should contact us. You will be taking part in a large variety of tasks from animal care to helping design a food forest and manage land.

Every day you will be learning how to apply permaculture ethics, People care, Earth care & Fair share. Place to camp or park up camper vans or shared space in the loft space in the cabin.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations

All volunteers must be aware there is no place for discrimination of any kind in a Permaculture Community and be happy to live and work alongside people from all walks of life.

We eat meat, we cook everything from vegan to veggie to carnivore. Please say when applying so we can make arrangements.

What to do in the free time

We are on a walking & cycling route. A good few local places of interest. An hour from Viseu and there is lots to do there.

In a valley at the edge of the forest by a river. 1 mile from the nearest shop.Weather European hardiness zone 9b, very hot summers and quite cold over winter. By Sierra Estrella mountains.

How to get to your site

Plane to Porto airport we will collect. Bus to Viseu we can collect. Train stations possible look on Google maps we can collect. Hitchhike in we are near Satao A25

Is there internet access?

No, we don’t have WIFI
