Guildance Community Development Foundation has over 10 years of experience designing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating community-based development projects in Nigeria.ย Guildance Community Development Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with research. Interested volunteers will be working as a team on the research project and will be committed at least 10 hours per week. The research is based on potential donors and partners (including social mobilisation). We are working on a vocational training project which is for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria, which is to be located in Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria. ๐
The target groups are
- Corporates;
- Charities;
- Universities;
- Churches;
- Schools.
The team will work to develop a database that forms the contact information of the above groups.
Requirements
The volunteer must be a professional fundraiser. She/he must be able to communicate through the mail and other means. Proficient in Microsoft Word etc. Prior experience in fundraising is an asset. Able to work in a team.
Steps to follow
- Schedule a call/mail with us and understand in brief what we do and analyse which fundraising would be suitable for us. Prepare a fundraising plan including contacting 1. Corporates; 2. Charities; 3. Universities; 4. Churches; 5. Schools and a social media posting calendar with the number of posts to be created if applicable.
- Setup our social media channels for FB, Twitter, Linked In, Twitter and other channels as agreed. Give access to the page created by making the concerned person from the NGO the Admin/link their NGOโs account.
- Get on a call and train the NGO on how to use the social media channels, giving edit access to others, and how social media functions.
- Use content provided by us and keep posting to get initial likes and traction for the posts by sharing it with the volunteerโs network.
Impact
The NGO can kick start their social media presence with this project and help showcase their work to their partners effectively. Volunteers can pick up a quick project and contribute their time by helping an NGO initiate their online presence and build initial connections.
