Responsibilities
The animal caretaker will work in one or several management areas, taking care of wild animals in our sanctuaries, under the supervision of the Area Coordinator or the Director. The role requires autonomy and organization to carry out the daily routine, which involves the welfare of animals (preparing food, cleaning, enrichment…) and all the tasks assigned by the Area Coordinator and the management of the Center.
Requirements
- Commitment to the welfare of animals.
- Willing to learn and get to know wild animals behaviour to give them the best possible care.
- At least an intermediate level of both written and
- spoken English and Spanish
- Good physical condition
- Be resilient to high temperatures and humidity, as well as mosquitos

We are looking for construction volunteers who want to have a memorable experience in the Amazon rainforest! Be part of a committed group of people from all over the world whose goal is to set up an immense project to shelter hundreds of rescued wild animals at the Jacj Cuisi Sanctuary, located next to the important Madidi National Park in Bolivia.

About the organization
The organization began in 1992 and has been growing ever since. CIWY currently maintains three wildlife centres, where injured, abused or mistreated animals are cared for either temporarily or permanently. The organization has been featured in the New York Times and on the BBC and has the support of the Jane Goodall Institute and The Monkey Sanctuary.
Volunteers wanted
CIWY accepts volunteers from across the globe to help care for these animals, involving them in everyday activities such as
- feeding,
- cleaning
- providing exercise.
In the past 15 years, more than 7,000 international volunteers have offered their help and support.
We don’t only need volunteers for work with animals but also for the smooth operation of the organization, whether it be through marketing, internship or helping with files, as well as help with education programs.
