Green & Away builds and runs a sustainable outdoor venue every summer. We welcome committed, hardworking people who are willing to help us provide an important service for the UK’s voluntary, social, and environmental organisations and people wanting to hold events with us that are environmentally friendly.
There are a wide range of jobs which need to be done to build the camp and to provide for the large numbers who come to our events. Cooking, washing up, welcoming people, office work, maintaining the toilets, lighting the burners to heat water for showers, etc. are all vital parts of the events. We will find out what your skills are and try to match your skills and interests to what needs to be done, to ensure that the less attractive jobs are shared around. All the jobs carry a measure of responsibility.
We ask that you are over 18, willing to work hard, have conversational English and are committed to our ethos as an organisation. You should have the ability to enter and stay in the UK for the duration of your volunteering placement. We also ask that you adhere to our Covid-19 policies, which will be at least in line with Government measures and potentially our own site-specific requirements.

What’s the mission of your community? 🎯
Green & Away is a charity and educational organisation that exists to make a difference. We do this by providing a fully serviced event venue for hire, and by encouraging individuals, businesses and organisations to make a difference in their own worlds and in the wider world too. Green & Away is managed by a team of eleven trustees. They manage up to 100 volunteers to run the project on-site. The team’s skills include management, cooking, maintenance, construction, hospitality, and education.
Volunteers with disabilities ♿
While we will do our best to accommodate those with disabilities much of our volunteering is outdoor manual work within a campsite venue therefore we will need to assess possibilities on an individual basis. ❗

Volunteers’ benefits 🏆🏅
Being part of a lively outdoor community passionate about the environment and educating people about sustainable living. We run an education programme full of talks, workshops etc. which you are welcome to be a part of. We often get the opportunity to participate in conferences held at the venue. You will learn practical skills as well as learn about community and a low-impact lifestyle.
A licensed bar, comfortable sitting areas and arts and crafts facilities come as and when we have built them. Although G&A is set up on the outskirts of a small village near Worcester, the nearest shop and post office is 2 miles away.
What to do in the free time 🚴🚣🦒
Lots of outdoor activities like swimming in the river, hiking and kayaking. Day trips to local villages and towns or just relaxing on site at the bar.
How to get to your site ✈ 🗺
Travel directions can be found at our website. To make your way on public transport the best option is to make your way to Worcester Foregate Street where there is a local bus that takes you to the village we are based near. Pickups can be arranged from the train station if needed.
Is there internet access? 🌐
Yes! There is WiFi and phone/laptop charging facilities.
