Looking for accommodation but also up for good cause? Become our live-in volunteer! Vitae Shelter has been welcoming refugees since March 2nd. Budapest is one of the first destinations for people fleeing the war, we still have a lot of people coming through and are full nearly every night. All our services are totally free to Ukrainians and have been run and coordinated exclusively by long-term and drop-in volunteers, and therefore we always need to recruit new members to our team.
Or if youโre already living in Budapest you can contribute just a couple of shifts or a few hours per week.
Language
No worries if you don’t speak Ukrainian, Russian or Hungarian. This is an English-speaking shelter.
What do we do
Budapest being one of the first destinations for refugees, we have hosted thousands of people by now, from single mums to displaced students, from newborns to pet owls… Volunteersย helped us make sure they could have much-needed shelter, a comfortable enough bed, a warm shower, food and support amidst the chaos.
