Montbrio Belvedere hospitality exchange

Montbrio Belvedere B&b volunteer project – We are a Dutch couple that 10 years ago changed its hectic life in the Netherlands to the rural area of Cambrils, Costa Dorada in Spain. We renovated an old Catalan farmhouse and created an ECO-friendly B&B. Next to hosting our guest, we have a 16-hectare ECO olive yard, that requires a lot of attention. We are looking for volunteers that can help us with the maintenance of the B&B, its huge garden and the olive trees. A special project for the coming months is to renew our vegetable garden and reduce the amount of grass in the garden for the guests, in order to make the garden more sustainable and less water-dependent. Another special project is to create 2 beautiful “rooms” between the olive trees, in renovated caravans.
We offer free food & accommodation in our B&B, the use of the kitchen and the use of a bike, and free coffee and tea, in return for 25 hours of work per week.

We are very eco-friendly and work hard to lower our carbon footprint. All our energy is green via geothermal installations and photovoltaic panels. We recycle what we can (waste, furniture, clothes, food…) We are vegetarians and our mission is to finally create carbon-neutral B&B and olive orchards.

Volunteers’ benefits 🏆🏅

Emerge yourself in the Spanish land life, the art of gardening and ecological farming and all that it takes to run an exclusive B&B. We are very open and open-minded, and willing to exchange our experiences and culture with you. If you want to learn English or Spanish, we will communicate in these languages.

What to do in your free time 🚴🚣🦒

The beach is at 8 km. The mountains, excellent for hiking and biking, are at 3 km away. Barcelona is 115 km or 1.5 hours by train. The garden offers you ample yoga space, a soccer field and a table tennis table. We have a small fitness area where you can work out. The Gaudi city of Reus is only 14 km away.

We are fluent in English, Spanish, German and Dutch.

Geography 🌳

We live in the coastal area, south of Barcelona. The winter temperatures lay between 8-20 degrees Celsius and from March on rise to 32 degrees in summer. We are very much noting the climate change and, unfortunately, have very little rain.

From Barcelona airport, you can take the Plana bus to Cambrils Club Nautic, where we will pick you up.
