Pegasus Riding centre is looking for volunteers! 🐎
Are you looking for a unique and exciting volunteering opportunity in 2023? Look no further than the Pegasus Riding Centre in Southern Spain. Nestled in the picturesque Alpujarra mountains, this small horse riding centre offers a one-of-a-kind experience for volunteers. (This piece of news was shared with us by Becky on our Facebook group ⛳).
Update May 2023
The volunteer placements for 2023 in Southern Spain are now open at a small horse riding centre nestled in the picturesque Alpujarra mountains. Situated in a stunning natural environment, the centre is located near the vibrant and alternative town of Orgiva.
From now until mid-September, the centre is accepting volunteer requests for placements, with a minimum stay of two weeks required. They are particularly in need of helping hands in June and August. In exchange for assistance with the horses, animals, general tasks, and child care (as the owner has a 6-year-old), volunteers will receive accommodation, meals, and the opportunity to go horse riding.
Various volunteer exchange options are available, and there is even space for those traveling in their own camper van. Local volunteers are also welcome to join and contribute to the centre’s activities. For those who have a keen interest in horse riding, the centre offers 5 and 10-hour riding bundles as part of their working holiday packages, along with general volunteering opportunities. It’s a chance to learn more about horses, improve riding skills, or even begin learning from scratch.
Some prior experience with horses is essential for safety reasons
Located near the alternative town of Orgiva, the area surrounding the centre is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Benefits & tasks
The centre is now accepting volunteering requests for placements throughout the year 2023, with a minimum stay of 2 weeks. In exchange for helping out with the horses, animals, general tasks and child care, accommodation, food and horse riding will be offered.
The Pegasus Riding Centre offers various volunteer exchange options, and even has room for a camper van if you are travelling in your own vehicle. Additionally, local volunteers are welcome to get involved as well. This is a great opportunity to learn more about horses and improve or learn to ride. However, for safety reasons, some experience with horses is essential.
The Volunteer Work Exchange Program at Pegasus Riding Centre
According to its volunteer page section, the Volunteer Work Exchange Program at Pegasus Riding Centre offers individuals the chance to learn about working with horses, acquire new skills, and gain insight into the operations of a riding school. In exchange for assistance with tasks such as horse care, child care, maintenance, and digital marketing, basic accommodation, food, and horse riding will be provided. A minimum stay of 2 weeks is required and a maximum of 3 volunteers are accepted at a time. Physical fitness and flexibility are necessary for demanding tasks. Those interested in regular riding opportunities during their stay can consider working holidays at the centre.
