A new community volunteering project
We are a collective, just moved South of France up a hilly huge forest called “Domaine de la Riviรจre”. We are aiming at becoming autonomous in food and energy, yet we are just beginning to get settled in this beautiful place. The “Domaine de la Riviรจre” is bound to become a place of spiritual and humane activities and exchanges. Exchanges between different collectives, from everywhere. A haven as the world may need in the not-too-distant future.
The people who are living here and are still settling have known each other for 15-30 years and are highly ethical, respectful, dynamic and open-hearted each deeply involved in his/her own spiritual path. They are from 35 to 60 yrs old + the friends and families that live nearby (young and younger).
ย What are you looking for help with?
- Building ๐
What’s the mission of your community? ๐ฏ
We are looking for volunteers to help us build 7 or 8 big yurtsย (and some small ones too).
All the way from the platforms on studs or stilts, to the setting of windows and doors.
At some point (pretty soon I believe), we will even need help for the making of the yurtsโ different components (bamboo or douglas-pine lattice, poles, knitting, debarking… …).
Very natural materials and techniques are used (except for the screws and the wooden floor which often contains glue).
The yurts are not for commercial purposes but will be places to live, to work, and to host friends.
We have already built 6 yurts (2 to host friends, 2 to work in, 1 to live).
Everyone being different in size and shape and technique (some ovals, some round – also heli-yurts and traditional ones, with branches or regular mesh…).
