Mission

Fundación Dame Unapata was established with the goal of improving the lives of street animals. Volunteer opportunities at Fundacion DUP

Volunteering with Fundación Dame Una Pata is a rewarding experience.

Volunteers can participate in a variety of activities, including:

  • Animal Care: Assisting in the daily care of rescued animals, including feeding, grooming, and providing medical care.
  • Adoption Events: Helping to organize and run adoption fairs to find forever homes for the animals.

Employment opportunities

Fundación DUP is also currently seeking a dedicated individual to join their team. Starting from the beginning of September, they are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum stay of 7 months. The organization is willing to assist with visa arrangements for those who qualify.

  • Location: The shelter is located 40 minutes from San Cristóbal de las Casas, in a small village near the forest.
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate is dynamic, loves animals, has initiative, is active and responsible, enjoys nature, has experience with dogs, and is between 23 and 40 years old. Duties include walking dogs, cleaning, preparing food, seeking donations, building new facilities, managing social media for adoptions and donations, and engaging in local outreach.
  • Work schedule: The shift is from 6 am to 12 pm and from 5 pm to 6 pm, with one day off per week.
  • Living arrangements: The foundation provides a house near the shelter with a private room, outdoor bathroom, garden, and kitchenette. Utilities (water, electricity, Wi-Fi) are covered by the foundation.
