Hostel N1 in Sofia, Bulgaria looking for volunteers for a hostel exchange

Hostel exchange in Bulgaria  – We need your help! Could you join us as a volunteer? Hey! Our hostel is located in the centre of Sofia and close to most of the city’s attractions. We need helpers to receive guests, clean out, entertain guests and following simple instructions. The most important is being sociable and aware if the tourists need something.
Update July 2021 – At the moment, there are 3 volunteers in the hostel and we are looking for 2-3 more since 5-6 volunteers are optimal for us.

We provide a bed, a kitchen, basic food, free trips, Wi-Fi.
Work is 5 hours a day and 2 days off.

The minimum period is one month. The maximum period is not limited.

Helpers will be able to visit all the sights of Sofia and travel around Bulgaria.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations

We need helpers to work at the reception, clean, entertain guests, hold joint events and so on. For each shift, there is an instruction to be performed at 100%.
The most important is being sociable and aware if the tourists need something.

Diet – nutrition information

Free basic food – rice, pasta, cooking oil, selection of fresh vegetables (carrots, potatoes, onion, garlic), selection of seasonal fruits, spices, bread, cow’s milk, sour milk, eggs, jam.

Drinks: selection of coffee (instant, regular coffee, decaffeinated), selection of tea (black, green, other), cacao, sugar.

VISA – could you provide Visa support/info/invitation letters?

No! we cannot help with Visa/invitation letters – similar requests will be ignored.

We are right in the middle of Sofia.
In the hostel, helpers get experience working with guests from different countries. Also, learn how the hostel works. You can have fun with guests and visit various sights of the city of Sofia and its environs.
Every day we offer trips for hostel guests. Trips to Rila Monastery, Seven Rila Lakes, Plovdiv, Saeva dupka, Eyes of God cave, Devetashka Cave. Volunteers can travel on these trips free of charge. If we are planning any of these trips with hostel guests, then volunteers go for free.

How to get to your site

You can take the metro from the airport and get off at Serdika metro station. Price for metro ticket 1.60 leva (0,8 euro). From the metro station, there are about 300 meters to our hostel. If you take a taxi don’t agree to pay more than 15 leva (7,5 euro).
From the bus / train station you can walk (15 minutes) or take the metro (0,8 euro) or tram(0,8 euro) or taxi (2,5 euro).

For taxis, you can use the Yellow Taxi app or TaxiMe. This application is also useful for city trips. It is cheaper, for example, to travel with other volunteers than using the metro.
