Ishi na Sisi Initiative, we are a Non-government Organization based in Tanzania that was formed mainly to Raise environmental awareness and to empower the community around conservation and other forms of protected areas. We aim to help communities around conservation areas to deliver innovative solutions that will work for people and nature. Also will develop unique solutions that will allow them to build alternative sources of income that also prevent environmental degradation & biodiversity loss.

What’s the mission of your community? ๐ฏ
As a Conservation and development organization, we are in real need of voluntary assistance for our projects in the community we are working with, we are looking for volunteers for community development, healthcare, language (English) and arts.

We serve the local Tanzania/African dishes, we can organize and prepare the special dishes for Vegetarians, and we also offer the kitchen when the volunteers are willing to prepare some special dishes for themselves.

While our organization is proud to offer free accommodations and meals to our volunteers, we operate on limited resources. If possible, we kindly request that volunteers consider making a small donation to help cover the costs of their stay. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated and go towards supporting our mission and future volunteer programs.

We are located in Sakina just a 20-30 drive distance from Arusha town, Into the foot of Meru mountain, the second highest mountain in the country after Kilimanjaro, the weather is a bit cool all year long compared to other places in town, on Late May to June is a cold season in the country about 10-15 degrees centigrade.
Since we are just located not far from town Shopping can be done on supermarkets in Arusha town, a few minutes’ drives with an accessible public mini-bus (Dala dala) for less than one dollar go and return.
Our accommodation is just close to the main road about a 10-15 minute walk where you can find some restaurants, cafe shops and some mini-supermarkets.
How to get to your site โ ๐บ
Our Accommodation is in the Arusha region where the guests can be reached by plane through Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport. For Kilimanjaro International Airport- The guests can take a private transfer to Our place for 70-80 USD (we advise you to communicate before so we can help to arrange and organize the transfer)
For Arusha Airport you can easily get to our place with a private transfer for 25-30 USD (private) or we can help to organize how you can access the public transfer to our place.
