Stay in our communal living home full of travelers in Las Vegas, USA

communal living

Communal living experience – We are a group of friends that do life community-style, in the amazing city of LAS VEGAS. We live in a house (that sometimes feels more like a hostel) near the Strip, where we host travellers from all over the world, sometimes up to 25 at the same time!

What type of host are you?
  • Private/Individual/family
What are you looking for help with?
What’s the mission of your community?

We strive to make true meaningful connections with people from all over the world. Our vision is to encourage people to make genuine connections, that last a lifetime. During your stay, you get a taste of the crazy (sitcom-like) lifestyle we live here, make a shit ton of new friends, explore Vegas in the best possible way, and go on epic adventures beyond the city.
As you can imagine, hosting that many people is a lot of work. We could use a couple of hands from like-minded people that fit into our lifestyle, in return for an extended stay (several weeks) and all the experiences and excitement that comes with it. Youโ€™ll be assisting in a wide variety of ways to help fellow travellers enjoy Las Vegas: housekeeping, kitchen duties, general maintenance, etc. It also may include tasks like organizing excursions/road trips or being a guide in the city.

Expect to be in a constant social dynamic.

Whether itโ€™s just hanging out at home, playing games or sharing stories, being out on a trip with fellow travellers, or going to one of Vegasโ€™ ultra clubs. You will meet tons and tons of interesting people that want to (and will) share their culture. Delicious food from all over the world, interesting discussions with many viewpoints and the sharing of habits from different countries is without a doubt included. We strive to bring people from all over the world together and come to a better understanding of each other. All that while being in the city of Las Vegas. The adult playground in the world and one of the most interesting cities for sure!

All year long

How many hours of help per day?

4-5 hours of help per day

How many days of help per week?

5 days per week – 2 days off

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations

Youโ€™ll be assisting in a wide variety of ways to help fellow travellers enjoy Las Vegas: housekeeping, kitchen duties, general maintenance, etc. It also may include tasks like organizing excursions/roadtrips or being a guide in the city.
Expect to work about 4 hours per day, some days more, other days less, depending on the amount of people that are staying and the plans for the day. We have space for several helpers at the same time.

Are accommodation and food included?

Accommodation is, of course, free, and breakfast will be provided. Even though group meals happen on a regular basis, please be prepared to contribute to or take care of your own dinner. If we go out and adventure either in the city and out in nature, it is expected that you cover your own expenses. No worries though, as Vegas locals we will share tips and tricks to do Las Vegas as cheap as possible.

You will receive two meals a day (usually breakfast & lunch) on the days you work.

Please be prepared to take care of your own dinners and food on your days off.

What type of accommodation can you provide?
  • Dormitory/shared rooms

There is always a sleeping surface available somewhere: beds, air mattresses, couches. Rooms are shared with whoever else is staying. People do not share beds, unless they choose to.
If you cherish your privacy or feel the need for a space to escape to and get away from the craziness in your own bubble, this is most likely not the space for you.

Diet – nutrition information

Meat-lover, vegetarian & vegan-friendly. We try to follow a low-carb diet, but don’t ask that of our volunteers.

VISA – could you provide Visa support/info/invitation letters?

No, we cannot help with Visa but we can offer assistance

Volunteers’ benefits:
  • Cultural exchange.
  • Expert knowledge on the city of Las Vegas and the surrounding area. All of us have extensively travelled to the United States.
  • Making a ton of new friends and being a part of a community.
  • Free access to clubs and other hacks to do Vegas in the most epic way possible.
What to do in the free time

… It’s Las Vegas. Do I need to say more?
Besides what the city has to offer, Vegas is the base for visiting many national parks: Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Zion are all doable as a day trip. Closer nature areas are Red Rocks, Valley of Fire, Mount Charleston and Lake Mead. The Vegas area has fantastic hiking and rock climbing.

It is easy and cheap to fly in and out of Vegas if you wanted to see a different city on your weekend like San Francisco, LA, San Diego, Salt Lake City, etc.

Geography

Las Vegas sits in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains and has the most gorgeous sunsets. It is in the middle of the desert, with a yearly average on the humidity of only 8%. It is sunny 98% of the days. Summers are extremely hot, 45-50C (105 – 115F). Fall & Spring are a comfortable 20 – 30C (65 – 90F). It cools down significantly in the winter, but don’t expect snow or ice. Like mentioned before, nature is about a 30-minute drive away, and there is lots of it!

How to get to your site

We are centrally located in Vegas. Five minutes from the McCarran International Airport, and less than 10 minutes from the Strip. Downtown is about 20 minutes away.
Long-distance buses bring you to the South Strip Terminal or Las Vegas Strip, both about 10 minutes away. The city bus stops just across the street. Uber is the easiest way to get around in Vegas.
We have plenty of first come first serve parking right in front of the house. (We have not been able to get our teleportation device to work).

Is there internet access?

Yes!
