About the association
A group of free citizens who had already been active for some years in an anti-dump committee to safeguard public health and protect the territory of the Piave area decided to create the “Sernaglia Legambiente Club” in 1988.ย The group of volunteers immediately distinguished itself by raising awareness of the differentiated collection of household waste, organising for several years the door-to-door collection of bulky waste.ย This activity has helped to educate generations about separate waste collection, so much so that today this positive practice has become the norm in our area: in fact, the Municipality of Sernaglia has been designated a “Recycling Municipality” several times by Legambiente Nazionale.
One of the main objectives of our association has always been to involve people, especially young people, in approaching the unique and fragile natural beauty of the territory and seeking sustainable ways to protect it.

About the European Voluntary Service in Italy
Our association is a hosting organisation for EVS (European Voluntary Service) young people.ย This is a special volunteer experience that creates a network of cooperation for the enhancement and maintenance of nature sites.ย In addition, as a Legambiente club, we host volunteers who work to care for our territory during the summer period in national work camps.
European Voluntary Service
This project is a long-term international volunteering experience and allows young people aged between 17 and 30 to live up to 12 months abroad working in a non-profit organisation.
The European Voluntary Service or EVS is financed by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ programme and aims to improve the skills of young people completely free of charge for those who participate: the European Commission in fact prohibits asking for registration or participation fees in any form to the departing volunteers and even less to the candidates in order to participate in the selections.
Benefits
Volunteers will receive a reimbursement for their return travel expenses (up to a maximum amount). The Erasmus+ programme will cover board and lodging. In addition, the volunteer receives monthly pocket money for small expenses and is entitled to a few days of holiday in addition to the weekly rest.
Requirements
The EVS is open to everyone: there are no discriminatory requirements to participate, neither qualifications nor citizenship, there are only age limits and only those who are legally resident in the country of departure can participate.
