ESC project in Hungary – If you are someone who loves working with children and young people and are eager to help disadvantaged families, join our ESC project. Our work is based on local needs in Hungarian Roma settlements, where we are working to eliminate socio-cultural disadvantages.

What’s the mission of your community?

Our mission at BAGรกzs is to create equal chances for segregated Roma so that they can achieve their goals regardless of their personal circumstances. Our long-term ESC project (11 months) is based in Roma settlements in two smaller Hungarian towns, Bag and Dรกny, where we organize after school activities for local children and youngsters.

Volunteers will actively participate in the life of local communities, hold English-speaking group activities together with our experienced volunteers and join the most awaited summer camps. Your tasks will include organizing and animating afternoon clubs, craft and sports days, weekly visits in the local schools and many other thematically planned activities that focus on community development and disadvantage compensation.

Our long-term volunteering project’s duration is 11 months, form July 2021 to June 2022.

How many hours of help per day?

6 hours of help per day

How many days of help per week?

5 days per week – 2 days off

Are accommodation and food included?

Yes, we offer food and accommodation

What type of accommodation can you provide?

Our volunteers will get monthly food allowances, so they can care for their own meals.

Fees transparency

As with every volunteering project by the European Solidarity Corps, we provide free accommodation and monthly food allowances, based on standard funding rules.

VISA – could you provide Visa support/info/invitation letters?

Yes, we can help with Visa/invitation letters

Volunteers’ benefits:

You will receive a YouthPASS certificate as a national recognition of the non-formal and informal learning. Our participants will receive training from our organization’s staff and will have a mentor. You will also receive pocket money based on the ESC funding rules.

English (and Hungarian, but it isn’t required)

Travelling is organized by us after the selection process.
