Urban Act ESC program in Portugal: for a better planet
ESC in Portugal โDo you want a better planet? The Urban Act is a team volunteer project that believes it can build happier and more sustainable spaces and communities. For two weeks, you will be involved in constructing outdoor furniture, a pedagogical garden for children and young people, and even painting and beautifying the Lopas Play Center.
The goal
To have an Eco Lounge for everyone!ย The project focuses on an artistic intervention at the Centro Lรบdico das Lopas to support the communityโs awareness of sustainability, solidarity and citizenship.ย YouthCoop is a non-profit cooperative for the empowerment and awareness of young people. We work in citizenship and human rights education, youth participation and technical youth work using Non-Formal Education and community-oriented approaches.

14 days: from the 4th to the 19 of September 2021

About the organization
Centro Lรบdico das Lopas is a community and public centre in Agualva-Cacรฉm, managed by the City Council, serving one of the most densely populated areas in Portugal. This space intends to offer recreational and educational activities for the community. It also aims to empower the youth of Sintra to be protagonists of the space they occupy, enhancing their skills to participate in their community actively.
