Volunteer at “Il Rosmarino – Fattoria Biologica Didattica” in Italy

Volunteer in an organic farm in Italyย  ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น โ€“ โ€œFattoria Il Rosmarino” offers an opportunity to volunteers who love nature, animals and want to live sustainably. This organic farm and educational centre is located in the Venetian countryside, Marcon, Italy.

Update April 2024 โ—

We, at Rosmarino, feel how important it is to create an evolution towards a community rooted in the value of the land and the relationship with animals, aimed at realizing a world that returns to a sense of collectivity beyond the self, where the gifts, talents, and passions of individuals are made available for a common and higher purpose.

This is an experience we have been living for years, and we feel the need to find other like-minded people who want to get involved, alongside us, through an evolutionary and sharing path aimed at creating a condition of mutual well-being.

Not that it’s easy; we know it’s a lifelong journey, but one that transforms us daily.

Ours is a reality that has been standing for over 20 years, representing an example of an alternative and, as far as possible, sustainable life.

In order to continue moving forward with the project that is dear to all of us, we need to implement new strategies and renewed energy, which, through agreements and guidelines, allow us to create a better, more open, and efficient structure for everyone.

The development opportunities of our farm are numerous but require finding a group of organized people, driven by a common goal, close to our feelings, and willing to evolve through this experience.

We are looking for the permanent development of the project!

  • animal management;
  • food product transformation;

More information about Fattoria Il Rosmarino

Fattoria Il Rosmarino, born in 1993, in its 18 hectares implements the principles of organic farming and permaculture. In the vicinity of the Lagoon of Venice, in Marcon, Cristina and Piergiorgio cultivate their fields trying to maintain the richness of the land to obtain genuine products with unaltered nutritional properties.
With the aim of preserving every form of biodiversity, opposing the standardization and trivialization of crops, they privilege those varieties typical of the territory that are now increasingly rare. In recent years, the company has been involved in a project of short-chain of ancient cereals, specializing in the cultivation of spelt monocoque, soft wheat Piave and Canove, spelt, world barley, corn (Marano, Bianco Perla), oats, rye and other grains.

Thanks to the differentiation of crops, the company is able to offer a cornucopia of natural organic food of high-quality representative of the territory.

Animals

The remaining part of the land is used for grazing necessary for the breeding of Haflinger horses. These horses help with the cultivation of the fields and for educational purposes. The farm is also home to other animals often rescued from the slaughterhouse or from difficult situations: donkeys, goats, chickens and ducks; they too testify to the importance of preserving biodiversity.

Educational farm

The farm belongs to the circuit of educational farms in the Veneto region. It organizes environmental and food education activities for all age groups and summer centres during the months of June, July and August, with particular attention to naturalistic and socio-educational activities.
The educational workshops are multi-sensory and interactive paths that bring children and adults closer to the rural reality of the countryside. It is possible to take part in thematic courses on honey and bees, workshops on ancient cereals and bread-making, activities on medicinal herbs and horticulture and much more…

Social farm

The farm supports and integrates with the offer of cultural services, educational, welfare, rehabilitation, therapeutic, training, employment for disadvantaged people. The family environment offers the guest daily contact with other people, inserted in a humanly rich context. The combination of these elements together with contact with nature and animals allow a positive and complete approach to bio-psycho-social well-being, which few other interventions can achieve.
