The Møn Retreat Work Exchange Program

A work exchange, also known as work travel or voluntourism, is the type of work where you exchange your time and abilities for food and accommodation.

Daily tasks may include

• Hospitality services
• Helping prepare food
• Serving food to guests
• Dishwashing
• Cleaning rooms, toilets and common areas and other housekeeping tasks, etc.
• Renovation and maintenance
• Gardening
• Community work, etc.

We welcome people who are interested in offering their presence, commitment and priceless work. You will be part of a community of international people, each one bringing their gifts and contributing to the flavour, diversity and uniqueness of Møn Retreat Center.

The work exchange experience is based on the idea of mutual help and collaboration, so there’s no monetary exchange involved. This also guarantees that the relationship remains a cultural exchange, without the constraints of a work contract.

Travel insurance

We do require you to have travel insurance. Make sure to research this while planning your trip. Travel insurance is a special kind of insurance for travellers that covers medical expenses due to accidents or health problems that can occur during your travels. There are plenty of companies that offer many different kinds of travel insurance, depending on the kind of trip, length of travel, and more. With a quick search, you can find the best option for your trip and budget.

We offer 2 different volunteering opportunities at the centre:

• Long-term volunteering (recommended stay of at least 2 months and above)
• Short-term volunteering (for volunteers who want to take part in a specific event/workshop / festival)

Short-term volunteering opportunities 2020

How you contribute
4 hours of volunteer service per day

• Accommodation (we suggest volunteers bring their own tents)

Long-term volunteering

Long-term volunteering is for people who wish to blend in with our international community and be a key part of the long-term success of the centre. Most long-term volunteers who have been with us become treasured friends and some come back to volunteer during the bigger events and festivals while others come back to join our community for yet another fruitful season. We are very happy when we see our friends coming back again, time after time, year after year. This is what the volunteering experience is all about. Long-lasting, true and meaningful relationships with people that care about each other and have a common place to meet where they can call ‘home’.

How you contribute

5 hours of service per day for 5 days per week (2 days free)
