The volunteer exchange
We offer housing, food and excursions with the groups.
The main activity in our organization is organizing and coordinating work camps with volunteers from all over the world.
Our workcamps are a place where people of all origins, ideologies and nationalities can live and work together for 10 days up to 2 weeks on a project hosted by a local community or by WF. We organize these camps in different places in Iceland. Our camps take place all year round. Each camp has its own individuality, different daily activities and goals. You can participate in such workcamps as a short-term volunteer or a long-term volunteer.
Short term volunteer opportunities
As a short-term volunteer, you participate in a project that you can choose from the list. Every project has its own theme, goals and day activities where you will participate with 6 to 25 other volunteers.
They are a multicultural voluntary team led by a minimum of two work camp leaders.
Long term volunteer opportunities
If you want to stay longer than 2 weeks, you can take part as a long-term volunteer. This program can last 3 months, 6 months (mostly recommended) or a year. Your most important tasks are to organize and coordinate workcamps as a work camp leader or take part in the office to bookkeep, plan projects, keep in touch with intercultural cooperation, etc.
