Volunteer on an organic farm in the UK

Update June 2023 โ€“ As spring approaches, The Apple Farm Snitterfield is looking for more volunteers to join them in their various projects. Located just outside Stratford upon Avon, this organic farm spans 55 acres and offers ample space for campervans or tents, along with available showers and toilets (note that showers may not be available on weekends if fully booked for glamping).

Volunteer tasks

With plenty of different activities to choose from, volunteers are encouraged to spend their time doing something that they enjoy. The farm has a long list of projects that require assistance, including pruning and clearing apple orchards, mowing grass in orchards, restoring an overgrown cherry orchard, prepping a polytunnel and planting vegetable seeds, picking apples and plums, and building compost loos.

Additionally, the farm is planning to set up a care farm with activities for people with additional needs and currently has volunteers once a week from Mencap. The Apple Farm Snitterfield values the happiness of its volunteers and allows them to choose which project they would like to help with.

Food and accommodation ๐Ÿ’

While the farm owners do not live on-site, they are present most days, and volunteers are welcome to stay or come daily. Note that volunteers must be self-motivated and comfortable being alone at night if there are no campers or glampers on-site.

There is a farm shop located next door, and a village shop nearby, with everything else that may be needed available in Stratford, just three miles away. In exchange for their pitch and use of the facilities, volunteers are asked to contribute three hours per day for five days.
